FAMILY AND SYSTEMIC CONSTELLATIONS

Channeling one’s sensitivity

According to the dictionary, sensitivity is the “ability to be moved, to experience feelings of humanity, compassion, tenderness for others”. Sensitivity is unique to each individual and cannot be compared to a garment that can be changed at will, but rather to a skin that needs to be taken care of. Just as the skin reacts differently to the sun by taking on various shades, some people need to learn to protect themselves in the midst of a crowd, a flow of thoughts or emotions. It is important to learn to distinguish what belongs to them and what belongs to others..

Misguided, sensitivity can be perceived as a burden, but as Voltaire said: “If one is not sensitive, one is never sublime.” So, how can we elevate something that seems difficult to live with? Many artists have learned to do so by expressing it through means that speak to them: writing, painting, drawing, music…

Imagine for a moment our world without the contributions of artists, writers, researchers, thinkers, scientists, and other known or unknown figures who share their sensitivity. A world without the inspiring actions of Mother Teresa, the moving music of Mozart, the introspective paintings of Frida Kahlo, the wisdom of the writings of Kahlil Gibran… The sensitivity of others touches our hearts. Yours is just waiting to awaken!

That is why recognizing and accepting our sensitivity is crucial. If we ignore it, it can become a heavy burden. Understanding the value of sensitivity is key to benefiting from it, for ourselves and others. In systemic constellation sessions, we can reconnect with our sensitivity by exploring our reactions, sorting through our thoughts and emotions, and relearning to listen to our intuition.

Systemic constellations invite us to create a space to express our emotions, intuition, and reconnect with ourselves.

The role of intuition in Family Constellations & Systemic work.

Whether in individual sessions or in a group setting, intuition is the guiding force in a family and systemic constellations session.

In individual sessions, we use objects or pieces of paper with inscriptions. The therapist guides the client to explore their intuition. This goes beyond mere mental and analytical reflection. The goal is to stimulate their personal sensitivity to resolve the initial issue.

In a group session, sensitivity is particularly heightened among the representatives who embody the roles of the system of the consulting person.

Regardless of the chosen method, each person can consult on a theme related to their sensitivity: “I am too sensitive to noises”, “I can’t set my boundaries”, “I can’t control my emotions”…
